Kitchen & Bathroom Sink Repair

The cupboard under a sink is where small plumbing problems hide until the base board swells. If yours is damp, sticky or smells musty, something has been leaking for a while.

Find the Actual Source, Not the Puddle

Under-sink leaks are deceptive. Water runs along the underside of a basin, down the back of a cabinet and pools somewhere that has nothing to do with the failure. Replacing a trap because that is where the water is visible is how people end up calling twice.

We dry the cabinet, run every fitting under pressure, and identify exactly which joint, valve or line is failing before replacing anything. Then we check the cabinet base and subfloor, because a leak that has been quietly running for months has usually done damage worth knowing about.

  • ✓Leak traced properly — dried, re-run and observed — not guessed from the puddle.
  • ✓Traps, wastes and supply lines — replaced with proper fittings, not patched.
  • ✓Shut-off valves — seized or weeping isolation valves replaced while we are in there.
  • ✓Damage assessed — we tell you if the cabinet base or subfloor needs attention.

Sink Repair Questions

There are only a handful of candidates: the tap body or its supply connections, the flexible supply lines, the shut-off valves, the waste connection at the basin, or the trap joints. They need different fixes, and the puddle rarely sits under the actual source. We dry it, run it, and watch where it appears rather than guessing.
Nine times out of ten it is a build-up in the trap or the branch below it — grease and food in a kitchen, hair and soap in a bathroom. If several fixtures are slow at once, that is different: it points further down the system and needs looking at properly rather than another bottle of drain cleaner.
Generally yes. They often do not clear the blockage, they sit in the trap, and they damage older pipe and seals while making the job genuinely hazardous for whoever opens it next. If you have already poured some in, tell us so we can handle it safely.
Small chips in enamel can be filled cosmetically. A cracked basin cannot really be repaired — a crack through a ceramic or composite bowl will keep moving and keep leaking. We will be straight with you about which you have and quote the replacement if that is the honest answer.
Yes, and it is a common one. The linkage behind the tap corrodes or slips out of adjustment so the plug no longer seats. It is usually a quick fix rather than a new waste assembly.
